December 2006: In a joint effort with Mr. & Mrs. Paul Strona VACEF was able to donate 25 shower trees to the city of Hue. VACEF would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Strona for coordinating the effort and for their generous contribution.
March 2005: Through the generosity of the Rotary District 5110 and Medford, Oregon Rotary local 353, as safe water system was purchased and installed at the Duc Son Orphanage in Hue, Vietnam. The system purchased is designed to disinfect or remove microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses, from contaminated surface and ground water. This system provides safe drinking water for the 180-200 children plus staff at the orphanage. VACEF would like to thank the Rotary District 5110 and the Medford, Oregon Rotary local 353 for their generosity and support. In particular, we would like to send special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Dale and Chris Porter for their efforts toward making this dream a reality for the children of Duc Son Orphanage.
2004-2005: In a joint effort with Dr. Tung Bui of the University of Hawaii College of Business Administration, VACEF donated $5000 worth of business and management textbooks to higher education in Hue.
Hue Flood Victims Assistance Fund: With the Hawaii community VACEF has helped raise funds in an effort to help the flood victims of teh Thua Thien-Hue Province, Vietnam.
1999: Restoration of the Quang Duc Gate of the Hue Citadel: VACEF raised $5000 to help with the restoration of the Quang Duc Gate to the world heritage Citadel in the city of Hue, Vietnam. The restoration has been completed, greatly enhancing the condition of the Hue Citadel badly damaged by the natural forces and war.
